Drivetrain Components

Heavy-Duty Transmission

Heavy-duty transmissions are responsible for optimizing the power of your heavy-duty engine. They’re generally manual-based and clutch-activated. At LA On-Site Fleet Services, we don’t offer intensive transmission repair, but we do offer clutch repair services. As for maintenance, we offer fluid changes and transmission fluid flushes. The average interval for transmission service is approximately 60 thousand miles, although that may change depending on what you use your truck for.

Driveshafts

Your driveshafts are rotating shafts responsible for transferring power from one component to another. In rear-wheel drive setups, a primary driveshaft and multiple secondary driveshafts are present. The amount of secondary driveshafts depends on the number of axle sets, which is generally two or three.

Differentials and Axle Shafts

Your differentials and axle shafts share the same lubricant, commonly referred to as gear oil. This lubricant needs to be changed once every 30 to 60 thousand miles. At LA On-Site Fleet Services, we offer a wide array of services dedicated to maintaining your axle housing and everything within it.
